Lavonna Fay Clinton, 1951-2021

Funeral services for Lavonna Fay Clinton, 70, of Savoy, will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021 at the Howe church of Christ, 1205 N. Collins Frwy, Howe, TX, under the direction of Wise Funeral Home.  Mike Dickison and Phil Smith will officiate.  Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Savoy, Texas.

Lavonna was born Aug. 13, 1951 in Guymon, Oklahoma, the daughter of Roger Forrest Puckett and Vella Marchie Brock Puckett.  She was the Valedictorian of the 1969 graduating class of Savoy High School and attended East Texas State University in Commerce.  Lavonna married Billy M. Clinton on July 18, 1969 in Savoy, Texas.  She worked for the US Postal Service in Howe, Tom Bean, Denison, Farmersville, Princeton, Gunter, Savoy and retired as Postmaster of the Ravenna Post Office in 2011.  Lavonna was a member of the Ivanhoe church of Christ where she taught children’s and ladies Bible classes and was active in missions.  She was also a teacher at Camp Ida in Maude, Texas.   Lavonna enjoyed singing, cooking, making chocolate pies, camping and riding horses in the mountains.  She was an excellent seamstress and bookkeeper for her husband’s business, Clinton Upholstery.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Lavonna leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 52 years, Billy Clinton of Savoy, TX; two daughters, Sheri Folkes and husband, Eric of Howe, TX and Tammie Dickison and husband, Mike of Tom Bean, TX; a son, Billy Forrest Clinton and wife, Elisa of McKinney, TX; two sisters, Sharon Davis and husband, Durward of Abbeville, Mississippi and Rogena McClain and husband, John of Eufala, OK; grandchildren, Zachary Folkes (Blaire), Meagen Folkes, Daniel Dickison (Rhianne), David Dickison (Emily), Mark Dickison, Melanie Dickison, Kristen Dickison, Kemplin Dickison, William Clinton,  Emelia Clinton, and Samuel Clinton; great grandchildren, Madelynn Dickison and Katherine Dickison; and numerous extended family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Smith, Zachary Folkes, Daniel Dickison, David Dickison, Mark Dickison, Kemplin Dickison, William Clinton and Samuel Clinton.

Memorials may be made to the Ivanhoe Church of Christ, P. O. Box 322, Ivanhoe, TX 75447 to support the spread of the Gospel throughout the world.

The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday night, Dec. 3, 2021.
