On the evening of Sept. 1, 2015, Howe police officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the 400 block of Hidden Valley Trail in Sherman. Howe Police Chief Carl Hudman stated that the warrant was obtained as a result of a burglary investigation initiated earlier in the day at a residence in the 300 block of N. Collins Freeway in Howe. According to police, a homeowner reported that a neighbor entered her unoccupied residence and stole a large quantity of prescription medication. Police say they located the suspect, a 31-year-old Howe woman, at her boyfriend’s house in Sherman and eventually obtained a search warrant for the boyfriend’s residence and the suspect’s vehicle.
A press release stated that officers recovered the stolen medication, still inside the victim’s prescription pill bottles, hidden inside the residence. The release also stated that additional un-prescribed Xanax tablets were found in the suspect’s purse. The boyfriend was not charged. The suspect was arrested for Burglary of a Habitation and booked into the Grayson County Jail. Hudman added that the suspect will be facing additional charges for the Xanax tablets.
