2014 UIL State Football Conference 3A D2 Bracket
Black Friday send-off
Bring your signs and noise makers to join the cheerleaders, band members, and fans this Friday at 1:15 p.m. The send-off begins in the parking lot of Howe High School with a victory line to cheer on the Dogs as they board the bus. The Bulldogs will have a police escort and will leave the school grounds by 1:30 p.m. At that time, the bus will take the service road of US 75 going south in front of Sonic, head back east through downtown Howe, and then off to Tyler Rose Stadium. This route will give everyone in the victory line plenty of time to drive to the downtown area to see the team out of town. Everyone is encouraged to support your hometown team.

Howe 2,000 yard club congratulates Hawthorne
In last night’s Area Championship win over Hughes Springs, Anthony Hawthorne scored five touchdowns and the last one got him in the record book tied for first with Nathanael Falls with 26 touchdowns on the season.
Hawthorne has entered the 2,000 yard club that only consists of Nathanael Falls, Randy Geer, Stephen Ogle and the late Billy Bryant Cloud.
“Congratulations to Anthony Hawthorne and the rest of the Howe Bulldog football team.” said Nathanael Falls. “I’m proud for Anthony as he breaks all the Howe rushing records and solidifies himself as one of the greats in Howe history. Although I’ve never met him, I’ve heard there’s not a better or more deserving young man to be in the record books. I hope records continue to fall as this group of young men keep rolling through the playoffs for several more weeks. It’s an exciting time for the entire Howe community and I’m proud to have been a part of it.”
“1,800 yards is impressive.” said Randy Geer. “He’s not the biggest, but neither was I. Little guys can still get it done. I like that it’s still not about the big and powerful backs.”
Geer’s words to Hawthorne: “I just want to tell him to enjoy every minute of it. It’s a fun time. Carry on the Bulldog Way.”
“Anytime you get a kid that gets these kind of yards, it puts them in a pretty elite group.” said Stephen Ogle. “What impresses me is his yards per carry.”
Ogle’s words to Hawthorne: “Welcome to the club. You deserve everything you get. Congratulate your offensive line because they deserve it as well.”
