Howe PD reports another accident

Yet another accident happened today on the icy US 75.  This one happened on northbound US 75 near Shepherd Drive just north of FM 902.  Howe officers routed the traffic onto the access road temporarily, but not have US 75 back open as of 12:20 pm.

From Howe PD: Southbound US 75 is now open

Howe Police Chief Carl Hudman says Howe Police Officers were working a single vehicle accident south of the Haning Street exit on US 75 as of 10:23 a.m. Monday, but now the highway is back open as of 10:50 am on Monday.  With the steady sleet that is coming down, the roads have become extremely slick and traffic is light.  10345844_10152592945196394_4873070755020688047_nPhoto courtesy of Howe Police Department

Lady Bulldogs lose Area Championship to Brock, 54-26

A combination of early foul trouble for Riley Harvey and a stingy defense by the Brock Lady Eagles spelled trouble for the Howe Lady Bulldogs.  The Howe girls’ season ends with a record of 26-7 and comes at the hands of one of the best teams in the state.  Brock is currently ranked 4th in the State of Texas according to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.

Harvey ended with 10 points and seven rebounds.  Two early fouls called on her that appeared to be clean blocks spelled trouble for her and the Lady Bulldogs.  With Harvey on the bench, Howe couldn’t gain momentum against the tight guard defense of Brock.

All five starters for Howe will return next season.  A full story on the back-to-back-to-back bi-district champion Howe Lady Bulldogs will appear on the front page of Monday’s Howe Enterprise.
