The Howe Area Chamber of Commerce will hold the first ever Hall of Honor Induction Ceremony in downtown Howe on April 24, 2015 at 7 pm. The event will take place in the new Chamber/EDC office at 101 E. Haning St.
Howe Hall of Honor inductees are Elmer Schenk, Carrie Waller, Ray Bledsoe, Norma Wallace, L.B. Kirby, Tony Brinkley, Arthur Boyle, Charles R. Thompson, Mame Roberts, A.M. Ferguson, W.P. Thompson and Jabez Haning. These charter members were selected based on their outstanding dedication to the city in their own unique way. Three of the four living members have confirmed their attendance (Elmer Schenk, Carrie Waller and Ray Bledsoe). The Howe Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking the family members of all other inductees so that they can be represented.
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at Independent Bank in Howe or at City Hall in Howe. This Howe historic event is limited to the first 250 attendees and will come with refreshments and a souvenir program. The Howe Hall of Honor Induction Ceremony will officially kickoff the Founders Day Weekend Celebration.
