Over the last two weeks, the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office received several burglary reports and trespassing complaints from the Sherwood Shores area. These complaints were in reference to an unidentified white male, who was seen walking in the area multiple times and breaking into homes. Sheriff’s Office Investigators were able to identify the male from victim’s statements. Based on their investigations, they were able to identify Zachary Paul Nelson of Gordonville and link him to multiple burglaries and trespassing complaints in the area. Sheriff’s Office Investigators quickly submitted and obtained an arrest warrant on the suspect. Once the arrest warrant was active, multiple Deputies and Investigators responded to the area to attempt to locate the suspect. On January 3rd, 2019 the suspect was spotted in Sherwood Shores and placed under arrest by a Patrol Deputy.
Nelson was taken to the Sheriff’s Office and interviewed by investigators. Nelson is currently incarcerated in the Grayson County Detention Center for Burglary of a Habitation and is being held on a $10,000.00 bond, with further charges pending. The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office was able to identify and quickly catch the suspect based on information and assistance coming from members of the Sherwood Shores community.
