The School Zone Academy opened its doors on May 18, 1985 and has remained through the ups and downs on the Howe local business economy for 30 years. Owner Kathleen Todd says the business was started with a ‘nickel and a prayer’ but has defied all odds. A story in Monday’s Howe Enterprise will look back at the challenges of trying to start a business in Howe as a woman in the mid-1980’s.
