A 1988 graduate of Churchill High School in San Antonio, she also attended Incarnate Word College. She is survived by her loving husband of 16 years, Gregory Scott Adkins; beloved son and daughter, Jackson and Hayden; mother, Sylvia M. Cantu; and brother, Julian Cantu. She is also survived by her beloved aunt, Gloria McAllister (Mike) of California and sister-in-law, Robin Adkins Metcalf (Shane) of Oklahoma. In addition, she is survived by her father, Rudy Cantu (Sheri) and their children David and Rose of San Antonio; as well as numerous aunts, cousins and other family members, and her cuddly canine buddy, Newman, who even now expects her to walk through the door.
A true testament to her nurturing and caring nature is evidenced by the question posed by the nursing staff to her husband, “Who is she … where does she work?” because of the tremendous outpouring of love demonstrated by the countless number of friends who visited to pray with family or simply pay their respects. The answer is simple. She was a caring daughter, loving wife, devoted mother and fierce friend, known as much for her positive attitude as for her infectious laugh. Her extended family were all the Howe schools and the community which she so loved and to which she contributed so much of her time and effort. She impacted and influenced a great number of people and was loved by all who knew her.
