Former Howe coach selected to coach FCA Victory Bowl

Former Howe Bulldog head coach Joey McQueen was selected to coach the blue team in the 2015 Heart of Texas Fellowship of Christian Athletes Victory Bowl.  McQueen is now  the head coach at Florence High School.  Rusty Nail of Mart will coach the red team.

McQueen came to Howe in 1990 and replaced Jim Fryar, who took athletic director and head coaching position in Jacksboro.  McQueen led Howe to a district championship, bi-district championship and area championship in 1990-1992.  His overall record was 16-16-2.  The two ties were in the playoffs vs. Celina and Olney in which the Bulldogs advanced in both games.

The FCA Victory Bowl football games are Central Texas All-star games pulling graduated seniors from the 12 county area the Heart of Texas FCA covers. Within the area are 92 high schools of every classification in Texas. Coached by local head coaches, players and cheerleaders are nominated by their coach or cheer sponsor and are selected by each of the Victory Bowl coaching staffs. Victory Bowl week begins the Wednesday before the game and is filled with service projects, entertainment,
practices, clinics, and much more.

Items found under flooring in old building – day two

For the second straight day, workers have found objects under the floor as the remove it to prepare for concrete.  Of the most peculiar items so far was a photo of an unidentified girl. She turned out to be Heather Johnson Dhane and the photo was not from the 1970’s as speculated earlier today, but from 2003.  Other items were insurance documents from 1964 and harwdare receipts from 1966.
