1968 Howe Bulldogs

6-4

1968 saw the Bulldogs finish 6-4 with a two point defeat by Allen in the last game of the season to keep Howe at home for the playoffs. The highlight of the season was a miraculous comeback victory at home against Celina. Quarterback Rick Hanning, with only 12 seconds remaining threw a pass to Jimmy Watson for the score to bring Howe within one point at 19-18. Hanning threw to Watson again to complete the two-point conversion to win the game for Howe. This season introduced some sophomores, such as Hanning, and Rick Orr, Butch Thornhill, and others that would go down as some great ones in Howe history.
