Howe brought the program back in 1958 with the introduction of eight man football, and lights at Bulldog Stadium. Coach Arthur Boyle started with Travis Arterbury, Jimmy Bearden, Ronnie Bearden, and Charles Sprowl. The Bulldogs started the season with two straight shutouts. Howe went 4-4 in their initial season. Travis Arturbery would shine on end reverses for TD’s.
