1941 Howe Bulldogs

6-3

Defense was a mainstay in Howe even though the coaches weren’t. H.A. McDonald took over the reigns as head coach in 1941. The ’41 defense would allow only 6.5 points per game as the offense struggled to score 106 points for the entire season. Howe would go 6-3 and not win the district for the first time since 1935. Crucial losses to Bells and Tom Bean kept the Bulldogs from advancing. However, those two teams would not fare well against Howe over the next 60 years. That 20-0 win by Tom Bean was the Tom Cats last for 46 seasons.
