1940 Howe Bulldogs

9-1, District Champions

The 1940 Bulldogs had yet another coach. Wesley Cox took over the head coaching duties after the departure of Leslie Walden. M.H. Jeter and Billy Patterson would lead the ‘Dogs. They would start the season with five straight shutouts, before Gunter scored to make the score 54-7. Howe finished the regular season undefeated but lost again to Lewisville in the Bi-District playoffs, this time 46-6. This may have been the best overall team in school history.
